Princess Ekiden (2023)

On October 22nd, the Princess Ekiden in Munakata/Fukutsu - 9th All-Japan Business Team Women's Ekiden General Tournament Preliminary Tournament - was held.
The Daiso Women's Ekiden Club finished 17th overall, just one step away from qualifying for the Queen's Ekiden.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported us.

We will post the comments of the players who participated.

[Ward 1] Koyuki Kato
My name is Koyuki Kato, and I ran the 1st ward this time.
In the first half, I was able to run as I had imagined, but in the second half I wasn't able to run as well as I had hoped, and I fell away from the lead group.
I felt the difference in ability between us and the other teams, and I realized once again that I still have work to do.
Also, I will repay my debt from this Princess Ekiden at next year's Princess Ekiden. At that time, I will do my best to show you a more mature version of myself.
Thanks for your great amount of support.

[District 2] Mori Hinata
This time, I ran the Princess Ekiden for the first time. As a team, we were not able to advance to the Queen's Ekiden, and as individuals, we were not able to run satisfactorily.
I have no choice but to rid myself of this frustration by running again next year, so I will do my best to stand at the starting line a year from now looking completely different.
Thank you for your encouragement.

[3rd Ward] Hiramura Ancient Capital
Thank you for all your support at the Princess Ekiden!
I am filled with frustration and regret for not being able to win a ticket to the main tournament.
I would like to go back to my original intentions and work hard from scratch.

[4th Ward] Teresia Mussoni
I was able to get the results of the training I had done up until now.
As a team, we were unable to close the gap by 4 seconds, so we want to cherish every second even more from now on.
I want to do my best so that I can do what I couldn't do next year so I don't have this regret next year.
Thank you for your encouragement!

[5th Ward] Sakura Takehara
This year, we ran in 5 wards.
I ran as hard as I could, chasing after the person in front of me.
I ran faster in the second half, but couldn't make it one step further.
I'm full of regrets right now, but we'll all become stronger and take revenge.
It was fun because I was encouraged by the support along the way.
thank you very much.

[6th Ward] Misaki Kato
My name is Misaki Kato and I ran the 6th ward!
In this year's Princess Ekiden, we ran 6 wards just like last year.
Unfortunately, I finished 17th and missed out on qualifying for the Queen's Ekiden by 4 seconds.
Personally, I wasn't able to run a race that I was completely satisfied with. At first I was in a hurry and went too far in the first half, then slowed down in the second half.
I realized once again that there are still many areas where I am lacking.
Also, I'm sure everyone has different thoughts, but I want to practice hard for next year so that I can definitely qualify for the Queen's Ekiden in a year's time, so I can further improve my level and aim for a high rank in the section as an individual. I will do my best! !
Thank you for your continued support of the Daiso Women's Ekiden Club!
