Daiso industries Co., Ltd., Ltd. (Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Seiji Yano, hereinafter “Daiso industries Co., Ltd.”) will hold the “Emperor’s Cup 28th National Prefectural Competition” to be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He is the main sponsor of the Men's Ekiden (sponsored by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, nicknamed the Emperor's Cup 28th National Men's Ekiden, Venue: Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as the "Emperor's Cup National Men's Ekiden"). Sakazuki: We asked students from Hiroshima Municipal Motomachi High School to create a trophy for the All-Japan Men's Ekiden, hoping that it would serve as an opportunity for the next generation to think about peace as well as promote sports. This time, seven second-year high school students from the same school completed eight ceramic trophies made using the ashes of paper cranes from Peace Memorial Park, with prayers for peace.
This project started in 2019, and since the tournament was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to measures against the new coronavirus infection, this is the second award. The high school students who produced the products will also attend the awards ceremony.
