Awarded a ceramic trophy to the winning and winning teams of "Emperor Cup National Men's Ekiden"
-First work using "origami" ash from Peace Memorial Park-
Daiso industries Co., Ltd. (Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, President: Seiji Yano) held the "Emperor's Cup National Prefectural Opposition Men's Ekiden Race Tournament (abbreviation: Emperor's Cup 25th National) held on January 19, 2020. The trophy was awarded to the Nagano Prefecture team that won the championship as the main sponsor of "Men's Ekiden" and the teams up to the 8th place that won the prize. This is the sixth time we have sponsored the tournament, but for the first time this year we have awarded a pottery trophy designed by a local high school student.
Daiso industries Co., Ltd. saw this tournament as a great opportunity to promote world peace both domestically and internationally, and conceived the awarding of a trophy with the image of a symbol of peace. We asked a high school student from Motomachi High School in Hiroshima City to design the pottery, and Shun Yoshino, a potter who is active in Onomichi City, made a pottery trophy. The origami crane ash of the statue of "Children's Peace Monument" in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is mixed with a pottery glaze (Yuyaku / Uwagusuri), and the finished trophy is glazed and baked.
